I'm Di Coke, and I've been entering and winning competitions for 14 years. Back in 1998 I discovered Compers News magazine and their online forum Chatterbox, and since then I've racked up almost £200,000 in prizes from TV gameshows, radio phone-ins, blogging, video, photo, text, Instant Win and recipe competitions, as well as simple prize draws. I've won over 40 holidays to destinations as far-flung as New Zealand, Japan and Brazil and I can honestly say that comping has changed my life! It's exciting, fun and you never know what you're going to win next – prizes like a day trip shopping to Paris, £1000 of champagne or a Selfridges Christmas hamper have added a real touch of luxury to my life!
I started blogging about my hobby at SuperLucky four years ago because so many people were asking me for advice on how to win. It's best to enter comps that require a bit of effort - simple internet prize draws will get thousands of entries but a recipe, photo, radio or crossword comp needs a bit of thought and most people don't have the time for that! People ask me why on earth do I share the comps I find - but there are more than enough comps to go round, and if a promoter runs a creative comp that gets lots of great entries (as opposed to just one entry from me!) they're much more likely to continue running future promotions. My blog has built up a following of enthusiastic compers who create excellent entries and I hope I can encourage more people to get involved in this special hobby.
In August 2011 I landed the job I'd wanted since 1999 - designing Compers News! I write a column for the magazine about comping online, and I blog at www.theprizefinder.com. I also look after the Compers News and PrizeFinder Facebook pages and Twitter feeds.
Here at SuperLucky I share creative comps, give tips and advice on winning, write about my own comping experiences and offer advice for promoters. I also blog about the latest news and controversies in the world of comping. SuperLucky doesn't carry any paid advertising and I'm not paid to write the blog - I do it simply because I enjoy it, I want to help promoters run fair competitions and I want more people to improve their lives with this amazing hobby. If you enjoy my blog please show your support by Sharing on Facebook or Google+.
