I can almost smell the Guinness!

Hurrah! Today I received a LWE (that's a Long White Envelope!) from Coors informing me I've won a competition with Caffrey's - a weekend break in Dublin. I'm pleased with this because I had to send off a receipt for a 4-pack from a Nisa store - this was a proper comping mission as it took me three attempts before I found one in Sneinton that actually sold alcohol! My first holiday win was with the Birmingham Evening Mail back in 1996 and that was a trip to Dublin, so this should bring back happy memories!

2009's first WTC!

The phone starts ringing, and you don't recognise the number...could it be a Winning Telephone Call? After endless false alarms lately (work, auditions, Yellow Pages, random strangers) I've finally had my first WTC of the year from Shiseido - I've won £300 of beauty products in their Clothes Show Live promotion. This was a little booklet given out to people as they left the show containing entry forms and coupons - there were ten prizes to be won so I knew I'd be in with a good chance! Let's hope when it turns up it's not lots of orange blusher and blue eyeshadow....

Di Coke buys Diet Coke

Well, there's a few ongoing comps to keep me busy at the moment - Sainsbury's are giving away £50 every 5 minutes, Diet Coke are giving away £10,000 every day and Gatorade are offering £1000 sports equipment everyday. As a result my car boot is full of fizzy drinks.... these promotions never seem to be on fruit juice or water!

After 12 entries into the £10,000 Diet Coke draw (which of course I didn't win. With my name, any kind of major win in a Coke competition would look like a huge PR stunt after all...) I decided to try the Instant Win for Cineworld tickets on the Cokezone website - and with my 12 codes I won a pair of tickets, hurrah! 

Also news to report on the TV gameshow front - I have auditions lined up for both '1 vs 100' and 'Sell me the Answer', a new Sky One show. And applications in the pipeline for 'Word Play' on Channel 5 and 'Divided' on ITV. I've downloaded a variety of trivia quizzes to my DiPhone to ensure I can top up my embarrassing lack of general knowledge....

How odd! I thought... and could only think it was to do with the recent Sainsbury's magazine competition to win a week in Antigua. I called her straight back - but she'd already left the office, darn! So I called this morning to bother her again... and Yes! I've won! I promised the other half I'd win him a sunshine holiday in 2009, and I've already done it five weeks in... the only thing is, I have to book 90 days in advance... and I quite fancied going next week!
